Set up your device & write down your 12-word seed phrase

Power on your device and write your recovery phrase on paper — never digitally. Store it somewhere physically safe like a fireproof safe. This phrase is your master backup.

Find your receiving address for each coin

Open the Exodus app connected to your hardware wallet. Each asset (BTC, ETH, SOL) has its own unique receiving address. Copy carefully or use the QR code.

Withdraw from exchanges one asset at a time

Always send a small test amount first — e.g., $5 worth — and confirm it arrives before sending the rest. This prevents costly mistakes from typos or wrong network selection.

Move tokens from software wallets

Transfer from MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or Phantom to your hardware wallet addresses. ERC-20 tokens (USDT, USDC, LINK) share your Ethereum address; Solana tokens use a separate one.
